Josh Bloom has taught high school Physics and Astronomy since 2001 in the Palo Alto Unified School District, and has studied, planned, and coordinated social-emotional learning (SEL) at Palo Alto High School as a Teacher on Special Assignment since 2015. The focus of his SEL work has been two-fold: viewing SEL through the lens of Tier 1 support for mental health and well-being, and determining how best to engage adolescents, teachers, and families in seeing SEL as relevant, practical, and authentic. As a husband and father of two, Josh has found no greater application of this work than in his own home.
