Anne Childers

  • About Us >
  • Anne Childers

Anne Childers, M.A., is an educator, speaker, and instructional designer with over two decades of experience in collaboration with non-profit organizations and school districts. Based in California, she is deeply committed to advancing educator development through Transformative Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and the art of storytelling.

Anne’s passion for information design has been the guiding force behind her multifaceted career. Her professional journey has included roles in journalism, print and web production, classroom teaching, instructional coaching, and instructional design. Over the last decade, her central focus has been on designing adult learning experiences for educators, skillfully drawing from these diverse experiences to craft both online and in-person professional learning. Her primary focus has been on supporting an integrated approach to SEL and Universal Design in classroom settings.

Recently, in her role as an SEL CC Partner, Anne has contributed as a content developer for SEL Foundations, an online graduate course for in-service educators at UC Berkeley. She has also played a pivotal role in the design and content development of projects for the Greater Good Science Center and the New Teacher Center. Her ultimate aim is to create media that reshapes our perspectives on the roles of educators, and she possesses a deep-seated passion for listening to and interviewing educators, harnessing their insights to drive meaningful change.

Anne’s exceptional skills span a range of areas, including Instructional Design, Public Speaking, Educational Technology, Professional Development for Adult Learners, and Storytelling. Her expertise has been widely recognized through presentations at esteemed events such as SXSW EDU, California MTSS, CASEL SEL Exchange, NWEA, Illuminate Education, CAST, and more.
