What does it mean to see ourselves as fully human? In this month’s community meeting, we welcomed author and scholar Dr. Shamari Reid. With love as a guiding force and framework, Shamari led us in an interactive presentation where we explored—not only the “good”—but the messy, and “sticky” parts of ourselves that can help to give us a more nuanced understanding of our humanity. Then, we considered how self-compassion and love can overflow into our work on behalf of our students.
