Headshot of Tee Raney. Black woman with big smile.

Tennille Raney, Ph.D.

  • About Us >
  • Tennille Raney

Tee Raney, Ph.D., is a licensed professional therapist, meditation teacher and educator whose work sits at the intersection of clinical science, contemplative practice, and the lived experience of communities that have historically been underserved by both.

With more than two decades in educational settings, Tee has shaped the social and emotional lives of students across every stage of development from at-risk youth to college classrooms. She has held roles as a school counselor, crisis counselor, administrator and university instructor. She has a proven track record of working consistently at the place where young people are most vulnerable and most capable of change.

Her scholarly work is grounded in her doctoral research examining the intersection of racial trauma and mindfulness, a focus that bridges neuroscience, identity, and healing. Tee holds a PhD in Counseling and Supervision and has taught graduate-level counseling at the university level. She has also been invited to present her work to school systems and professional organizations across New Jersey, including a traumainformed mindfulness workshop for the Newark Board of Education and an invited lecture for the NJ School Counselor Association on mindfulness strategies for at-risk youth.

Her mindfulness training was completed through Mindful Schools and the Mindfulness Center at Brown University. She currently maintains a private practice called Raney Wellness in New Jersey specializing in the emotional well-being of adults and adolescents.
