Liudmyla Herasymenko is an Associate Professor in the Ukrainian State Flight Academy, Ukraine, and holds a PhD in Pedagogy. With 19 years of experience teaching English across a range of proficiency levels, she is an experienced language educator, coach, researcher, and passionate advocate for meaningful learning. Liudmyla is a Childhood Education International Fellow, an alumna of the OPEN programs, and an active participant in international workshops and conferences focused on language teaching and learning.
Following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, Liudmyla reimagined her approach to education, integrating holistic pedagogy and mindfulness practices to support learners in times of uncertainty and stress. She believes that teaching is about growing together with students, embracing change, and having the courage to try new approaches. Rather than focusing solely on results, she prioritizes building meaningful relationships with her learners. Active listening, celebrating achievements, emotional awareness, and genuine care are at the heart of her teaching philosophy. She strives to create a supportive environment where students feel a sense of belonging, discover their identities, and develop the skills needed to become successful global citizens and leaders.
Liudmyla is also a mother of two. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, practicing Pilates, observing nature, and traveling.
